Flexform outdoor lounge chairs
An outdoor lounge chair does the work a sofa cannot: it moves. These are the Flexform armchairs made for the outside, light enough to carry into the shade and built to be left in the weather.
What makes a lounge chair an outdoor one
The frame is the first difference. Indoors a chair frame can be poplar and plywood. Outdoors Flexform uses solid iroko, a dense West African hardwood that holds its shape through wet and dry cycles, or powder coated aluminium where the drawing calls for a thinner leg.
The second difference is the seat. Under the fabric there is marine plywood and polyurethane foam sealed in a breathable waterproof laminate, so rain runs off instead of soaking in. Feet get die cast metal tips and nylon pads, which is what keeps a stone terrace unmarked.
The third is the cover. Every outdoor lounge chair here takes a removable cover, and the factory offers a weather cover on top of that. Flexform says in its own specifications that the cover is what keeps a chair looking new, and it is worth ordering at the same time as the chair.
